An International Adoption Story: The Bush Family
Everyone arrived at the airport around 9:30 PM and waited anxiously for the newest member of their family to arrive with his new parents and little sisters. It had been a long day, but an even longer journey, for the Bush family. They flew all the way to China, spent two weeks and then came back this night to bring Joseph home.
I can't express how incredible it was to witness this special little boy's homecoming. Adopted from China and now with his forever family in America. I really had to choke back the tears at the airport, it was so amazing to meet this family's new son who they have been praying for for a long time. And to see the undeniable expression of joy as he met his Grandparents, Aunts and Uncle for the first time was priceless.
Here is Joseph's homecoming. The family all had shirts that had their title in English and Chinese character so Joseph would know who they are. They were holding signs and photos to welcome him home. Joseph really enjoyed the greeting and being showered with love and gifts. He also really enjoyed handing out all the souvenirs and gifts he and his sisters picked out for everyone. One thing that really caught my attention was that he seemed very concerned about retrieving his suitcase. Once it came off the baggage carousel, he really didn't let it out of his sight for long. Eventually he opened it and I saw the contents he was so concerned about--- TOYS! Yes, toys, his most prized possessions :) Such a boy!
God bless you Joseph Tao and the Bush family on your journey as a family of 5.
